Aion Ranger Guide Review
The Killer Guides Aion Ranger Guide Review
Killer Guides Aion Ranger Guide is probably the best attempt at making guides for this class for the moment. I find the guide very well-rounded. It gives solid advice and instances for the class skills, skill tree, transformation, abilities, gears as well as strategies and tactics, like when and how to best soloing, PvP and playing in parties. In addition, the guide also includes sections on how to make Kinah (money) using your Ranger. Although I am quite sure the Killer Guides Aion Kinah Guide is probably a better choice when it comes to this aspect of the game.
While reading this review you might be thinking that these are common features of guides and that the content inside are probably not different from any other Aion guides or that this information can probably be found on free forum and webboard.
However, what highlights the difference between Killer Guides guides and others is that the KG people somehow managed to put together ‘in-depth’ info. Also; the benefit of a guide is that all the info you will need is compiled in one place instead of being scattered around on several sites and various video tutorials. That does save you a great deal of time tediously searching and, not to mention, the review info. What’s more, they have some kind of loyalty program, like, once you buy their guides, you can download the guide updates free for life, so you don’t have to worry about your information getting out of date.
Getting all of these in return for $29.99 makes the Killer Guides Aion Ranger Guide a great bargain. This review totally recommends!
Introduction to the Ranger Class

Below you’ll find introductory information to the ranger class. For more advanced information, it’s recommended to get guides written directly to address the ranger class. One recommendable read is this Aion ranger guide which is offered as an digital manual.
The Aion Ranger is one of the advanced classes. Anyone who wants to play a ranger would need to choose the scout class during character creation. Once you hit level 9, you’ll come across a quest which allows you to choose your transformation whether you would like to advance to become a ranger or assassin.
Sadly, where there is a good aspect there is always usually going to be a bad one to go along with it. Although you may know some of these (being that you chose to play the Ranger), some you also may not.
The Good
* Able to kite (more information located throughout the guide)
* Good damage on skills
* Both snares and damaging skills
* Ability to attack from a distance
The Bad
* Somewhat low damage with normal attacks
* Must purchase and carry arrows
* Low defensive armor
DIFFERENCES between ELYOS and ASMODIAN
There really are not many differences between the two available factions in terms of skills. There are only a few skills that are not the same between the two, noticeably in the skill tree and of course there are two different leveling areas and worlds they come from.
Solo Combat

Your first skill to use as a ranger, during pvp or pve whether against normal mobs or aggressives, will always be Surprise Attack. If you notice the mob you are going for is aggressive a great plan is to use Hide ahead of time. Some mobs will “recognize” this skill but others will not. When in Hide you are able to sneak up on some mobs that are aggressive, allowing you to get the Surprise Attack off on their back. Note that this will not happen every time, however when it does the benefit is great. Against passive mobs this is very easy as it will land every time!
Once you have used Surprise Attack you are ready for Focused Evasion and Counterslash. You must use these in succession, otherwise you are unable to use Counterslash (it can only be used after you evade an enemy attack, but luckily Focused Evasion will guarantee you do evade one). As both of these skills have a long reuse timer, you will most likely only be able to use them one time per mob.
Now you are ready for Swift Edge, followed by pressing the hot key again (in my bar it is “2,” so I would press “2” twice in a row) to automatically use Soul Slash. These two skills together do a significant amount of damage, but Soul Slash has a long reuse timer.
At this point you will want to use melee attacks against the mob and keep using Swift Edge as it becomes available again. Even if Surprise Attack cools down during your current battle, you will not land it, making it useless at this point. Counterslash, however, is still a good pvp / pve attack if you are able to evade an enemy attack.
Leveling
I felt leveling would be a great area to start with on the Ranger, being that you are looking for not only information on the class in general, but also in progression. This section will be split where necessary to reflect the differences between the Elyos and Asmodian factions. Later (in the Abyss) they will merge together for a more “mixed” leveling perspective, but for now we must split them up. To do so, we will go based on levels, and then split based on the faction.
Of course, the first area we will discuss is going to be the starting areas for levels one through ten. Please notice that after these beginner levels we will start listing only the areas and quests themselves and will not go in as great of detail as we are in the beginning. This beginning section is here to let you get a better feel for how to progress through the game and the skill tree. We will, however, list the various areas you should end up at and what levels you should be at those points. As you get to higher levels you will be running back and forth between areas a little (or a lot) so we will be going based on the quest starting locations rather than the ending locations. This should greatly assist with giving you the information you need.
Levels 1-10
One of the hardest parts of getting to level 10 and becoming a Ranger or Assassin is that you start out having to play as an Assassin. You do not obtain any of the Ranger (bow) skills until level 10, after your transformation. This first section is going to deal with the Assassin techniques since there is no other choice at this point.
